Snohetta to build eco-camp on Norwegian islands

Snohetta has set up a major tourist base on one of Norway’s many islands. On which of them construction will begin is not yet known. What is known is that such recreational areas are already being created by other companies on other islands.
Rest at such bases is harsh, almost extreme. The thing is that you will have to live for several weeks almost like real Vikings, except in more or less modern houses. The benefits of civilization are minimal. All vacationers live in large groups in wooden houses, which are built mainly by the water. Each house is designed for several dozen people.
Houses will be built according to ancient technology and ancient plans using modern methods. The main building material will be wood. Inside each such house will actually have no walls and partitions. The main task of this “cruise” is to allow vacationers to concentrate as much as possible on the harsh northern nature. Among the entertainments at the recreation center, there will be forays deep into the island, overcoming hilly and mountainous terrain.

There will also be water rides, survival courses in the north and historical lectures. Experienced in the “fishing art” will be able to fish plenty, innovators and extremals will be able to try fishing as did their distant ancestors. Each such island tourist settlement will have its own pier and small tourist fleet.

There are suspicions that the recreation area will be created next to one of the historical centers, near Oslo. There, on several islands there are already quite old settlements of people, where they live in wooden buildings, to this day.
