People of low quality
The average person today is of poor quality. Do not rush to flap your wings and be outraged. There's no eugenics here.
Let me explain what I mean. Today, the average Russian either watches “House 2” and “Comedy Club” or “Let them talk.” The choice depends on age.
Today, the average Russian does not read Dostoevsky or even the boring Grishkovets. He — again, depending on his age — sits in Odnoklassniki or spends himself on Vkontakte and Instagram.
Having the opportunity to travel around the world, citizens are dragged not to museums and exhibitions, but to shops and restaurants.
News on popular portals, which visit the average person, contain in the headlines the phrase “showed a luxurious body”, “showed a rounded tummy”, “shocked by a photo of his butt”, “left his wife”, “battle of dresses” and “ten ways to become ...”. Become, depending on gender, a model or immediately Batman. Or Beckham.
Recently sawed in Instagram a photo of Maxim magazine with pumped grandmother on the cover. She explained to her readers what she had done wrong in her training. Oh, that started. . .
It turned out that the cover was not just a massive girl, but a third-rate actress from the sitcom on TNT. On Instagram, she's a star. The idol of millions in the literal sense of the word.
As soon as I criticized the body of the idol a little, I was attacked by his defenders. Thousands of people spent time and energy on stuffing kilometer illiterate sheets on smartphone screens, the meaning of which boiled down to the following: “She is a star!” She's on the cover! She's better than us!
A lot of people seriously think:
(a) an actress from a cheap sitcom on a moronic TV station star,
No-clothes photos in a men's magazine are an indicator of life success and a reason for envy.
The conclusion is obvious: since the collapse of the USSR, the population of our country has rapidly squandered.
The level of mass culture is low. Interests revolve around food and sex. Today, the erudition of the average Russian is slightly higher than that of a monkey or cat.
You disagree? Look at the ratings of popular TV programs: you can’t fight against the facts.
You disagree? Look at how many followers Instagram members of the TV project “House 2”. The same Buzova has them – twice as much as Medvedev. You won't mind that either.
The quality of a person is determined by the level of his education, culture and interests. Culture is in the ass. Education is there. Interests - on the opposite side of the ass, but also below the waist.
We habitually look down on Americans, applauding Zadornovskiy: "Well, stupid." What about you?
How does the average Russian differ today from the average American or European in terms of personality quality? Are we smarter, mostly? Read more? More educated? More cultural? Not at all.
In 2015, not a single Russian university was included in the hundred best universities in the QS World University Rankings. MSU, which we are so proud of, is in 108th place. There is no other university in the second hundred. Not because of the sanctions.
But the popularity of the inhabitants of TNT is growing by leaps and bounds, and every evening on the First TV channel of the country begins with a talk show in which Andriushka Malakhov puts cotton swabs into the mouths of participants to take their DNA and find out who, in fact, is the father of the Lyubkin children – a guest worker from Tajikistan or her brother?
It hurts me to say this, but I say, "Today, we are, in general, people of low quality." Bitter to admit, but where to go?
