Volkswagen will develop an electric minivan

Digging Volkswagen is developing a concept electric minivan. The car will be called the Microbus and will be presented at the consumer electronics show CES, which will be held in early January in Las Vegas. In addition, the car will get the production version, which will be officially announced at the Geneva motor show in March next year.

 


The novelty will be built on the platform MQB. The car is made in retro style and will remind you of the classic microbus of the 50-ies. The machine gets a square design and a unique D rear rack. Driven car will be with the help of an electric motor which will be powered by a battery installed under the floor of the car. According to preliminary data, the power reserve without charging will be about 400-500 kilometers.



The production version of the car will also get the regular version with petrol and diesel engines. The car will be assembled at the plant in Mexico. According to unofficial data, the first copies of a minivan off the Assembly line in 2017.

Earlier it became known that the new generation Volkswagen Phaeton will get a fully electric version. The car will differ striking design and advanced technologies, the concern noted. The machine should start in 2020. The main competitor of new items called Tesla Model S. published
