The longest prison sentence in history was given to a postman — 384,912 years

22-year-old postman Gabriel March Grandos ignored and failed to deliver approximately 43,000 letters during his career as a postman. For such blatant negligence, the court of Palma de Mallorca sentenced Grandos to a record term of imprisonment - almost four hundred thousand years behind bars, 9 years for each of the 42,768 undelivered letters. The postman ended up behind bars back in 1972 and is still there.
