In 2005, Australian Chris Barnes opened in Alice Springs shelter for kangaroos, orphaned as a result of accidents. When information about his venture hit the Internet, found many sympathizers citizens donated a large sum.
From 2009 to 2011, this money was built the present sanctuary, which is currently home to 28 kangaroos and a camel.
