BBC will distribute one million mini-PC English students





Electronics and programming already included in all our lives. Now these complex issues involved not only bearded uncle in serious offices, but also teenagers and even children. And even more to encourage the younger generation willing to learn electronics and programming, the company BBC announced plans to hand million mini-PC UK students. While we are talking only about the schoolchildren aged 11 years.

Mini-PC in question are called Micro Bit, and their development has not yet been completed in full, although this step is already completed. It is worth noting that the Micro Bit somewhat simpler than the same Raspberry Pi. Nevertheless, the device from the BBC quite modern: there are Bluetooth, ARM-processor, compatibility with a large number of hardware platforms, low power consumption.



The device is compatible with the Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Galileo and other mini-PC Micro Bit. Representatives of the company believe that using such devices students will be able to learn Touch Develop, Python, and C ++.

The project itself is not the first initiative of BBC. In particular, the company has worked with Acorn Computer for the production line of computers BBC Micro to provide the British School in the 80's of the last century .



Now this project is part of a larger initiative of the company, BBC Make it Digital, which is aimed at encouraging a new generation to the study of technologies and programming languages. After all mini-PC will be distributed to students, BBC production closes.
