Sandra was born on May 18, 1962 in the city of Saarbrücken, on the border of Germany and France. Her father was a Frenchman Robert Lauer - the owner of the liquor store, the mother - German Karin Lauer, who worked in a shoe store. In the future singer was also the older brother Gaston (died in 1995). Since childhood, Sandra showed a great aptitude for singing and dancing, so since 7 years she attended the music school, dance school, as well as courses of guitar playing. Already at the age of thirteen, Sandra attracted the attention of audiences and music critics during a speech at the Festival of young stars Saarbruecken. Inspired by the success, right after the festival in August 1976, she released a single called «Andy, Mein Freund» about your favorite pet - puppy Andy (in the single also included the song «Ich Bin Noch Ein Kind»). However, the single was not widely known, and Sandra for a few years trying to get on stage again.









In 1979, Sandra accepts an invitation to join the group «Arabesque», which soon took a leading position. The group became known worldwide, but the greatest popularity it gained in Asia (especially in Japan), and the USSR. During a speech in the composition «Arabesque», Sandra met budding singer and musician Michael Cretu, who at one time worked in concert band keyboardist. Between them there was a strong feeling that soon turned into love. At the urging of Michael Cretu Sandra in 1984 left the group, so that under his leadership, to begin a solo career. In April 1984, Sandra and Michael Cretu released his first single titled «Japan Ist Weit», German-cover version of the hit «Big In Japan» group «Alphaville». The single failed completely (it was reported that it sold only 125 copies). Then Sandra and Michelle returned to the English-language format Eurodisk. The result was the first solo album of Sandra «The Long Play», which was published in November 1985 and immediately took to the "twenty" hit parade of Germany and other countries (eg France, he took 5th place). Success waited and subsequent albums, particularly popular was the single «Everlasting Love». In January 1988, Sandra and Michelle were married.

In the late 1980s, Sandra awhile departs from his solo career, helping her husband in his new project called «Enigma» as the main vocalist and backing vocalist. Returning to a solo career was not very successful, and Sandra takes some pause, focusing on the family. In July 1995, she gives birth to twins Nikita and Sebastian by caesarean section.





In 2007, Sandra divorced her husband and went to live with Olaf Menges on the island of Ibiza. Later, in 2010, it was combined with Olaf Menges legal marriage.



The last three years she toured extensively and is preparing to release a new album, which is written in America. In 2009 came the long-awaited new album, Sandra «Back to Life». According to the singer songs from the new album - it's dance music, but created without the participation of Michael Cretu. However, this fact does not exclude the possibility of further musical collaboration former spouses. Sandra's new album was recorded at the end of August 2011 but it is not known when it will be released. April 27, 2012 published a collection of Blank & Jones, and on May 11 released a new single «Maybe Tonight».



September 22, 2012 live on Polish channel TVN Sandra unveiled his new song «Infinite Kiss». The same day the video footage for the video presented to the fans a new song. For a couple of weeks before the filming of the video, Sandra and her team invited fans from Warsaw and the surrounding area to take part in the shooting.



October 26, 2012 released its long awaited worldwide release of 10 studio album «Stay In Touch». The album is available in two versions - the "normal" on CD 1 and «Deluxe Edition» 2 CD. For Russia and Ukraine is a special release, which will include a bonus track «Russian Eyes».



Performs songs in English and songs «Moscow Nights» and «Russian Eyes» from the album «Stay In Touch» (2012) Sandra sang a few phrases in Russian.
