At the end of the week Samsung Electronics introduced the Gear S - the next generation of smart wearable devices company. The new gadget has got a curved Super AMOLED display and a flexible strap, making smart watches conveniently located on the user's wrist. The key difference from its predecessor is the built-in 3G-module and a slot for SIM-card with which Samsung Gear S becomes completely independent mobile device itself, although a bunch with a mobile phone is still available.
Samsung Gear S equipped with a 2-inch curved Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 360 × 480 pixels, dual-core processor with 1 GHz, 512 MB RAM and 4 GB of internal flash memory. All that stuff works on the basis of the operating system Tizen. Battery capacity - 300 mAh (battery should last for two days of normal use), size of smart watch is 39, 8 × 58, 3 × 12 5 mm. Model Gear S complies with protection against dust and water IP67.
Smart watches have wireless adapters Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n and Bluetooth 4.1, receiver navigation system GPS / GLONASS, accelerometer, gyroscope, electronic compass, barometer, light sensor and UV radiation, as well as heart rate sensor. Wearable device allows users to make calls over a cellular network, send and receive messages, and receive notifications of soc. networks, calendars and applications. The device is easy to switch between 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, depending on the needs of the user, and the information is automatically synchronized when smart watches work in tandem with the smartphone.
As expected for this type of device, Samsung Gear S has the capacity for sport and health care. Owners will be able to use smart watches as fitness tracker in conjunction with a proprietary application or Samsung S Health Nike + Running, and the navigation system will not allow the user to HERE to get lost in an unfamiliar area.
