European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation: Flying in the Crimea banned

European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (Eurocontrol) has banned flights in Crimea, in particular in Simferopol and Sevastopol.

Eurocontrol, strictly following the ICAO Convention on International Civil Aviation, will not recognize any unilateral declaration of air navigation services over any part of the Ukrainian airspace published not Ukrainian authorities.

Flights to Simferopol and Sevastopol prohibited until further notice.

Eurocontrol also advises when choosing a route other than the closed, align them with the Ukrainian, Romanian, Bulgarian and Turkish control centers in order to avoid disturbances in the traffic.

Eurocontrol coordinates and plans air traffic control across Europe. This includes working with national authorities, air navigation equipment, civil and military airspace users, airports and other organizations. Its activities include strategic and tactical flow management, controller training, regional control of airspace and air navigation and the collection of taxes.
