Norwegian Army Colonel :)

This bird is already more than a decade is in the custody of the Royal Army Norway. During this time the penguin Nils Olav made a real military career. From second lieutenant, he was promoted to colonel, he was awarded the title of the special order of the king himself. In honor of this event it was arranged ceremony. Norwegian military specially arrived in Scotland to salute his winged officer. Niels handed epaulets, and he spent his first parade of troops. Colonel marched along the rows of soldiers, inspecting the parade. This story began more than half a century ago, when the Norwegian guards decided to take patronage over one of Edinburgh Zoo penguin. He was named Nils Olav double name - in honor of his colleague, who suggested the idea, and King Olav. The first penguin died in 1993 at the rank of sergeant. His successor has advanced much further.
