Dive for the Cross

The traditions of this holiday in Bulgaria is very peculiar. So a few dozen men dove into the lake in the center of Sofia for the Holy Cross. It is believed that the one who will be able to catch the priest thrown into the icy water Cross will have a good health throughout the year.

In the town of Kalofer local men, who could not dive for the cross in the river (it is too shallow for that) danced and sang in the icy water.
