Steampunk
Steampunk steampunk or (Eng. Steampunk, from steam - «pairs" and punk - «protest", "conflict") - the direction of science fiction is derived from cyberpunk simulating alternative embodiment of human development, in which were perfectly mastered the technology of steam engines and mechanics . As a rule, steampunk involves an era stylized Victorian England (second half of the XIX century) and the early capitalism with a distinctive urban landscape and the contrasting social stratification. By "punk" component of steampunk is a special emphasis on "low human nature", driven by lower passions - lust, anger, vanity, greed and envy. Particular attention authors writing in the genre of steampunk, paying household and physiological details of the life of the protagonists. The general style of steampunk often looks cynical (grossly frank) and pessimistic. © wikipedia
