Enormous strength typhoon washes China
More than a million people evacuated in eastern China due to the onset of Typhoon Morakot, which translated from Thai means "emerald". August 7 typhoon hit Taiwan. The wind speed at the center of the cyclone reached 150 kilometers per hour. As a result of rains in some areas dropped more than 200 centimeters of rain, were flooded around a hundred settlements. It is noted that the flooding in Taiwan was the largest over the past half-century. The victims of the typhoon have killed at least three people, and another 29 are currently missing.
