RATAN-600. Photographed 4 years ago. I decided to share.

Numeral 600 denotes the diameter of the antenna in meters. RATAN- 600 radio telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences, located in the village Zelenchukskaya the Caucasus. RATAN - abbreviated name of "Radio Astronomy Telescope Academy of Sciences." The telescope consists of 900 parabolic plates, forming a circle with a diameter of 600 m, it can be used in whole or in part: each quarter telescope mirrors can be operated separately.
