In 1984, the year of reaction occurred with 42 tons of methyl isocyanate, the temperature and pressure have risen so much that the air began to come out huge amounts of gas containing methyl isocyanate, phosgene, hydrogen cyanide and other chemicals. Poisonous cloud last in the neighboring territories of sleeping residents awoke on feeling the heat in the throat and eyes. As a result, only in the early hours killed about 4000 people. Over the next few years, the consequences more than tripled the number - about 15 000.
