Wooden motorcycle by Daimler of the 19th century

In 1885 Gottlieb Daimler built his first motorcycle, a wooden bike. The first successful test of a motorcycle passed November 10, 1885. In addition, in August 1888, Daimler has received investment from William Steinway, who proposed to start mass production of motorcycles in the United States.

Since 1891, Daimler Motor Company, which is owned by Steinway, began producing internal combustion engines for different types of vehicles, including boats.

From about that started the whole automotive industry.
