Motive Canadian company introduced a car of his own design. Its main feature is not that he is driven by an electric motor. Now it will surprise nobody, especially when it comes to the concept. The new machine, called Kestrel many interesting because its body is made of hemp .... Rather, the use of composite materials obtained on the basis of this remarkable plant.





It turned out that hemp is perfect for the production of car bodies. Because of it you can get easy, hard and fairly durable material, which, moreover, can be processed. And hemp does not rust, which is also very important.



Under the hood Kestrel is an electric motor that gets its energy from a lithium-ion battery. Latest enough to smallest and lightest machine (850 kg) traveled on a single charge about 160 km. According to representatives of Motive, they will be ready to establish mass production of hemp car at the end of 2012. And Kestrel will be only the first model - in the future the company is going to produce a whole range of electric cars. via
