Gathering strawberries - this is one of the most difficult and low-paid jobs in the United States. Among those who gathers strawberries in the fields of California a lot of immigrants from southern Mexico, especially from the state of Oaxaca. These people speak the languages ​​of the Mixtec and Triqui, appeared long before Columbus discovered America. Some migrants, especially those who are undocumented, allowing them to legally stay in the country, often living on the streets in tents. But despite all the difficulties they have strong family and friendly commune, making easier for people to survive. From traditional dances and music of the people it consists not only unique culture, but also the power to enjoy life, even in difficult social conditions. The power of such communities is expressed in social movements advocating for the rights of workers and immigrants. These pictures are a small part of a multi-year project "living under trees", through which people can learn more about the life of immigrants in the United States and Mexico.
