In Iceland, on Sunday, May 22 began erupting volcano Grimsvotn, located in the south of the country. According to agency Reuters, the volcano threw a column of smoke and ash up to 20 kilometers. The airspace within a radius of 220 kilometers from the volcano area declared closed to flights. At the same time, the government spokesman said that the eruption does not affect flights in the airspace in Europe within the next 24 hours. Grimsvotn volcano is located in an uninhabited glacier Vatnayokull, the last time he was active in 2004.
