Armored KAMAZ "Typhoon"

Completely original chassis of KAMAZ production, domestic engine - 450 hp, automatic transmission (its use can improve the handling of the machine in difficult conditions), automatic differential lock, anti-lock system.
Front overhang angle - 45 degrees, in the back - 40 degrees.
Turning angle - 39 degrees, turning radius of the machine - less than 10 meters.
Tires boestoykie - 16.00R20, with special inserts, diverting blast. Implemented automatic tire inflation pressure level and the change in the tire (1 to 4.5 atm) depending on the road surface.



The car was created by special TK Defense Ministry. Installed combined protection ceramic armor, under which the steel armor. Circuit protection is provided by firing armor-piercing incendiary bullet B-32 caliber 14.5h114. Including the impact of these weapons and keep the glass "Typhoon", which are specially designed for this car company "Magistral Ltd».

In order to meet the needs of companies producing armored vehicles for the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and in accordance with the terms of reference of the "Typhoon" to create bulletproof glass, providing protection from 2 shots to the distance between the points of contact 280-300 mm in the shelling of the KPV heavy machine gun ( KPVT) armor piercing B-32 14-gauge, 5 × 114 mm, the company "Magistral Ltd" has done a lot of research work on the selection and use of bulletproof compositions of new materials and the application of innovative technology we developed hardening glass.

As a result, have been developed and successfully tested in the JSC "NII Stali" thick bullet proof glass 128, 5-129, 0 mm dimensions 500 × 500 mm, which was successfully without any damage-proof layer, survived by 2 shots given ammunition from KPVT with the speed of a bullet at the moment of contact 911 ± 10 m / s.

This bulletproof glass of his bullet-proof quality exceeds the requirements of Russian GOST 51136 and GOST R 50963 (highest protection class 6a - SVD rifle with armor piercing B-32, 7, 62 × 54 mm). During its development, we are also focused on the requirements of the level «IV» NATO standard STANAG 4569 - the protection of armor-piercing ammunition during the shelling of the B-32, 14, 5 × 114 mm with a distance of 200 m, the speed of a bullet 891-931 m / s.

After successful trials, we have made the first sets of bullet-proof glass with double electric heating and increased transparency (70% light transmission), tested the same level of protection for future armored family of "Typhoon".



Since there is still no Russian guests for mine resistance, book "Typhoon" was conducted on the west to STANAG 4569 Level 3b - the machine can withstand the undermining of an explosive device equivalent to 8 kg TNT under any wheel and in any place under the bottom (for bulletproof protection - Level 4) . Currently, anti-mine resistance tested using the simulation program, special car bomb at different points of the bottom and wheels. After some modifications of the machine are planned and the real test for mine resistance.



At the request of the Ministry of Defense armored function module can accommodate 16 people. On each seat (suspension system ensures its attachment to the roof of the car for greater stability of mine) has seat belts, head restraints (for fixing the head in the case of blasting). There are holders for personal weapon. Backpacks, knapsacks placed behind the seats, and the cabin can carry some loads, such as a tent. In the shelling of the machine head can be removed and firing through loopholes. In the case of the use of weapons of mass destruction to provide breathable air filtering unit provided FVUA-100A. And in the cockpit, and an armored unit is air-conditioned.

Each door is equipped with a five-point lock.
