In the English Zoo Exmoor Zoo March 31 are born three puma cubs. Zoo staff until recently kept secret the fact of their birth, and only recently when the kids themselves began to crawl out of the den mother, officially presented the cougar and her young audience.
Small cougar spotted leopards, spots they will start to disappear as they mature. Curator Danny Reynolds said that they are very proud of their cougars Fu (mother) and Nicky (the father) (Fu and Nikko), as this is their first offspring. They have already shown themselves to be good parents, their babies are healthy and well developed.
Puma (Puma concolor) in the world are called differently, somewhere a mountain lion, cougar somewhere. Puma - the second largest member of the family cat in the Americas; it only larger jaguar. This cat reaches a length of 100-180 cm, tail length 60-75 cm, height at the withers 61-76 cm and weight up to 105 kg (males). Normal Normal male major subspecies weighs about 70 - 90 kg. Females are smaller than males by 30%.
