Every year in mid-summer in the Austrian town of Portschach held an international festival of body art. It lasts a week, from 2 to 8 July. The themes this year were "internal fear, shadow boxing" and "Vanguard, Innovation, provocation».

The first four days are a variety of workshops and classes Academy World Festival. In the last three days of the festival is held in which students demonstrate their creativity.

At the festival of body art come tens of thousands of people. Overall, the event is free, but some shows are passed by ticket only.

Participants in the festival about two hundred artists and models from forty countries. The best images of the festival audience and evaluated by a special jury.

There are several categories: airbrush, feyspeintin, makeup contest, etc. At night contests painted with UV inks.

World body painting festival was created in 1998 by Alex Barendregt. Alex was working in a travel agency, and the authorities gave him the task to come up with a new event in the town of Seeboden. When he came up with the event, Alex suddenly saw the pictures of body art, and decided to create the festival. Today, this festival is the biggest annual event bodypainting culture.
