Excavators and trucks are taken from the quarry every day thousands of tons of ore. In millions of tons, it contains about 100 kg of diamonds.



The first phase of the Lomonosov Mining and Processing Plant took place in 2005. This seemingly low-key complex transforms land into diamonds.



Traffic control at such facilities are concentrated in a single center - "caps" on the streamer should not be. The operator monitors the situation and sends commands to drivers.



Selected from the quarry ore goes to the shop, where powerful machines crushed ore - crushing strength enough for the destruction of the rock, but not a diamond - the hardest mineral. After crushing and grinding the ore is sifted through special sieves, screens. Diamonds are on the screens - unless of course they all have in this land.



In 2011, at the Lomonosov field produced 1, 2 million tons of ore, and the weight of all diamonds produced amounted to 557 million carats. The largest diamond was mined here in 2010, his weight was 50, 1 carat - by world standards, not a giant. Mined diamonds in the Arkhangelsk region are valued even higher Yakut: they are smooth, flat, transparent and have an unusual beautiful color. About 60% of the Pomeranian stones - gem quality.



Sort diamonds - a complicated matter and responsible, but necessary. After all, in 2007 the company received the right to trade in diamonds, and a year later Pomeranian gems saw the whole world, "Severalmaz" for the first time took part in the international bidding.
