In 1972, the former German paratrooper, and now 79-year-old researcher Werner Freund, founded wolf reserve "Park wolves Werner Freund» (Wolfspark Werner Freund) in Merzig in Saarland in Germany. Over the past 40 years Freund grew more than 70 wolves. Currently, the reserve of 10 hectares live 29 animals that form the six packs. To be respected wolves, Werner has to behave like a pack leader.
