Photo project length of 36 years

One year - one photo. 4 sisters over 36 years old were taken to a family photo project, which became known to the whole world.
It was 1975, the year when Nicholas Nixon (Nicolas Nixon), professor of photography at the Massachusetts College of Art, photographed his wife Bebe and her three sisters. Simple and at the same time, a romantic family picture very much and sisters, and photographer. They gave each other a promise, even if fate scattered them to different corners of the world every year to meet and make a family photo. And every year for 36 years, they restrained him.
While working on this series, Nixon held two unshakable conditions. First, the sister in the picture always in the same order: Laurie, Heather, Bebe, Mimi, and - from the youngest to the oldest. Secondly, each time he has chosen to print only one frame. As the years passed, changed fashion, hairstyles, way of life, unchanged remained a strong family bond.
After 36 years of Nixon introduced the world to a photo project of 36 pictures entitled "Sister Brown» («The Brown Sisters»). The project has visited many famous museums around the world, and the Browns made history.
