Russia has temporarily abolished tariffs on electric cars. The zero rate will be established from 1 February 2014 to 31 December 2015 inclusive. The decision does not affect hybrid cars, reports "RBC" referring to the press service of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
As noted, the decision to temporarily reduce fees to 19% of the customs value to 0% will create a market of interest for the development of the production of these vehicles. "Consumption hampered by lack of charging and service infrastructure and its development because of the small number of electric vehicles in use is not profitable," - said the Minister of Trade of the ECE Andrei Slepnev.

The Council instructed the governments of the ECE - members of the customs union and the ECE work through the organization of production of motor vehicles, their components and the creation of the necessary infrastructure to IV quarter 2014.

Eurasian Economic Commission created by the decision of the Presidents of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan in late 2011 as a single permanent regulatory body of the Customs Union and Common Economic Space.
