To get to the capital - Pyongyang - a resident of the province may only with special permits. Nevertheless, it's a big city, with a population of about 4 million people. Public transport is developed quite good: there are trolley buses, trams, subway and even - the only one in the country. Outside the city, people move mainly at passing cars. Pyongyang - a city of monumental buildings and monuments. Most of these are either the largest in the world, or Asia. For example, this triumphal arch, a copy of Paris - the world's largest. It was built to commemorate the Korean resistance 1925 - 1945 period against the Japanese invaders. The official opening of the Arc de Triomphe was held to mark the seventieth birthday of Kim Il Sung. Each block it completely made of white granite. "Dragon mountain" - Rёnaksan (Mount Ryongak, 룡 악산, 龍 岳山) - a very picturesque place only a 20-minute drive from Pyongyang. At the foot of the building is an old Confucian school.



Not far from Pyongyang, there is another place of stunning beauty - Park Oyn, which means Silver Lake («Silver Lake"). The lake is framed by the mountains, which can be reached by a convenient footpath.
