Family Hero

Last grenade. Pioneer-partisan Marat Kazei preferred death captivity.

Of all the pioneering heroes Marat Kazei lucky, perhaps, the least of all. Soviet schoolchildren since the late Soviet Union, not so much because of opposition views, how many of the children's stupidity, sang in the school corridors bawdy poems with a mention of the young war hero.

To some of those sung with age was ashamed, and someone, probably to this day sees this as a contribution to the debunking of "Soviet myths».

The true story of Marat Kase was more dramatic than the teachers told the children. But his feat no less significant. On the contrary, dedication and courage of the boy cause even greater respect.

He was born October 10, 1929 in the village of Stankovo Minsk region. Marat boy called his father - a convinced communist, a former sailor of the Baltic Fleet. Ivan Kazei named his son after the battleship "Marat", which he himself had the opportunity to serve.

Revolutionary idealist Ivan Kazei and his daughter called unusual - Ariadne, after the heroine of Greek myth, which he really liked.

Idealist and wrecking

Marat parents met in 1921, when 27-year-old revolutionary sailors Kazei Ivan came home on leave and had a crush on his namesake, 16-year-old Aniuta Kazei.

A year later, put ashore, Ivan came to Stankovo finally and married a girl.

Communist and activist Ivan Kazei was a staunch Bolshevik, work has been in good standing, led training courses tractor, was chairman of the comrades' court.

It ended in one day in 1935 when he was arrested for sabotage. Whose vile hand scribbled a false accusation is unknown. Apparently, idealism Ivan Kase, who never took a penny of state for personal use, became annoying those who wanted at the expense of the people's wealth to improve their own well-being. Such people are always there, regardless of what kind of political system in the yard.

Ivan Kazei was exiled to the Far East, where it vanished forever. Rehabilitated it only in 1959, posthumously.

Anna Kazei, the same convinced Communist, after the arrest of her husband fired from their jobs, kicked out of the apartment, was expelled from the Moscow Pedagogical Institute, where she studied in absentia. Children had to be sent to relatives, which proved to be very correct decision - Anna very soon arrested for "Trotskyism».
Mother- "Trotskyite" hanged Germans

It seems that Marat and his sister Ariadne had no reason to love the Soviet regime after what happened to his parents. But here's the strange thing is, most people of the time believed that repression, falling on the heads of their families, are the work of specific dishonest people in government bodies, not politics of Soviet power as a whole.

Anna Kazei not suffered the fate of her husband - before the war it was released. Prison is not changed her political views. Convinced Communist Anna Kazei from the first days of the occupation began working with the Minsk underground.

The history of the first Minsk underground was tragic. Not having sufficient skills such activities, they were soon exposed and arrested by the Gestapo.

Crypto Anna Kazei with their comrades in the struggle was hanged by the Nazis in Minsk.
Marat and Ariadne

For 16-year-old Ariadne and 13-year-old mother of Marat Kazeev death triggered the beginning of an active struggle with the Nazis - in 1942 they became soldiers of the guerrilla unit.
Marat was a scout. Artful lad many times successfully penetrated into enemy garrisons in the villages, getting valuable intelligence information.

In combat, Marat was fearless - in January 1943, even being wounded several times raised in the attack on the enemy. He has participated in dozens of sabotage on the railways and other facilities that had special importance for the Nazis.

In March 1943, Marat saved a partisan detachment. When punishers took a partisan unit named Furmanova "pincers" near the village of Rumok, namely scout Kazei managed to break through the "ring" of the enemy and help bring neighboring guerrilla groups. As a result of punishers were broken.

In the winter of 1943, when a detachment out of encirclement, Ariadne Kazei received severe frostbite. To save the girl's life, doctors had to amputate her leg in the field, after which the aircraft ferry to the mainland. She was taken to the rear, to Irkutsk, where doctors were able to leave it.

And Marat continued to fight the enemy more angrier, desperate revenge for her murdered mother and sister for the crippled, the insulted Motherland ...

For courage and bravery Marat, who at the end of 1943 was only 14 years old, was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 1 st degree, medals "For Courage" and "For Military Merit».
Family heroes

Outside it was in May 1944. Already being prepared "Operation Bagration", which will bring freedom to Belarus from Nazi oppression. But Marat was not to see it. May 11 near the village Horomitskie razvedgruppu partisans found the Nazis. Mate Marat was killed immediately, and he joined the battle. The Germans took him to the "ring", hoping to capture the young partisan alive. When out of ammunition, Marat blew himself up with a grenade.

There are two versions - one Marat blew himself up and walks over to him the Germans. On the other hand, the guerrillas deliberately undermined only themselves, so as not to give rise to punitive action Nazis in the village Horomitskie.

Marat was buried in his native village.

For his heroism in the fight against the Nazi invaders Presidium of the Supreme Soviet on May 8, 1965 Kazei Marat Ivanovich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.

Ariadne Kazei returned to Belarus in 1945. Despite the loss of legs, she graduated from Minsk Pedagogical University, taught at the school, was elected deputy of the Supreme Soviet of Belarus. In 1968, heroin-partisan, deserved teacher Belarus Ariadne Kazei Ivanovna was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor.

Ariadne Ivanovna was not in 2008. But the memory of her and her brother, Marat Kazee alive. Marat monument installed in Minsk named after him several streets in the cities of Belarus and the former Soviet Union.

But the main memory - not in bronze, and in the hearts of people. And as long as we remember the names of those who sacrificed themselves to save our country from fascism, they remain with us, strengthening and inspiring by example in the difficult moments of life.
