In the second round of the election, the Russian resort city by a margin of four votes beat South Korea's Pyeongchang. After the first round of the Korean city received 36 votes, Sochi - 34, and the Austrian Salzburg - 25. In the second round of Sochi received 51 votes, Pyeongchang - 47.
