Reinforced "Lynx"
Armored vehicle LMV M65 «Lynx" - all-wheel drive multi-armored vehicle designed to carry a wide range of challenges facing the Armed Forces. In 2008, an agreement was reached between the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, JSC "KAMAZ" and the company IVECO (Italy) to carry out joint work to determine the feasibility of using military automotive vehicles IVECO production in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
In the period from 2009 to 2011 in order to assess compliance with the basic performance characteristics of prototypes of all-wheel drive armored vehicles IVECO 65E19WM (LMV) the requirements of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation were tested two cars received from Italy. The explosion destroys the front chassis, severely damages the engine, but bronekapsuly intact. Inside the car damage limited to offset the steering column (contact with the driver was not) and chipped plastic front panel.
Examination showed that the driver dummy, is closest to the point of explosion, was not injured, just flown away a piece of him panel slightly torn pants and cut his leg below the knee. Sensors detect that the limit is exceeded overload for the human body was not.
How did the Italian manufacturer has achieved such a result? Protection technology that involves the creation of a separate bronekapsuly for the crew compartment, which includes a ceramic ballistic protection, fastened to the metal frame, standard armor plates and bulletproof.
