1. Take notes on the read. All in the mind can not keep, and the most valuable facts, thoughts, interesting statistics, statements or thoughts voiced characters in the book, you may find helpful in the future. This also is attributed and your general impression of the book read (useful if someone asks recommend / criticize this book some time later).
2. Write out your favorite quotes: it's not just business, but also fiction. Quotes can be a source of inspiration or just an excellent tool in the preparation of presentations, texts and analytical articles.
3. Do not read multiple books. First, you risk to get confused in the "happening" in each of the books (especially true of fiction); Secondly, it looks like a simultaneous eating several meals. Give yourself time to "digest" and "enjoy the taste" of reading, but does not accelerate just for the sake of just "grab" a few "trends."
4. Keep a list of books that would like to read. There you can bring books that you have read / heard / you are advised to colleagues or friends. Once a month, look into this list - and choose books to read 2-3 in the next couple of weeks. And then be sure to buy / take in the library or at a friend's these books and read them. After reading the old cross off the list. By the end of the year, you can estimate how much you read and what subjects / authors / genres you the most interesting.
5. Use the old as a resource for new ideas / projects / changes in their own lives. Business literature - as a way to find new ideas for their business decisions and work tasks. Fiction - as a source of certain life principles, motives and priorities. Journalism - as a source of interesting facts. Read not just for fun and recreation (although this is important), but also actively use what learned from books.
