Through the Looking Glass
The new joint project of architectural studios Johan Selbing Architecture and Anouk Vogel in Almere, the Netherlands, is striking in its simplicity and extravagance - crossed the threshold at home, you just find yourself in Wonderland. This effect is due to the fact that all the exterior walls are mirrored on the outside and transparent from the inside. A good way to let in the natural environment in the home, avoiding prying eyes. A look will now certainly!
The architects have tried to make the layout of a single-storey building as compact as possible, leaving the possibility to adapt easily enough space under the lifestyle owners. Floor level was slightly elevated in order to improve the view from the street through the walls.
The main building material (other than glass mirror, of course) was selected birch wood. Her visual warmth contrasts with the simple yet elegant view of the glass facade.
