Michael Clarke Duncan was born in 1957 in Chicago, Illinois. Michael and his sister Judy was raised by a single mom Jean Duncan. Because of his mother's illness he had to leave his studies at the university, to support the family. Due to the outstanding stature (in peak form and its weight was 142 kg, with an increase in 196 cm), he worked as a bouncer in clubs of Chicago and later served as a bodyguard in Los Angeles. Duncan is also engaged in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
The first major film in which he starred, was the 1998 fantasy thriller "Armageddon". During filming, he met Bruce Willis, who later helped him to get the role of John Coffey in "The Green Mile," for which Duncan was nominated for "Oscar" and "Golden Globe».
This was followed by work in other films, such as "The Whole Nine Yards," "Planet of the Apes", "The Scorpion King". Duncan also made a dubbing actor in the animated film "Brother Bear" and a few video games, including The Suffering: Ties That Bind, Soldier of Fortune and God of War II. In 2005, he starred in "Sin City," where he played the role of Menyuta. His voice also says Vahir of "Kung Fu Panda».

On the night of 12 on July 13, 2012 Michael Duncan suffered a heart attack and cardiac arrest. His girlfriend called an ambulance, and conducted the necessary resuscitation procedures, resulting to keep him alive.
September 3, 2012 Duncan died in Los Angeles, and has not recovered after a serious heart attack.
