Gia Marie Carangi was born Jan. 29, 1960 in a small town in Pennsylvania. Her father Joe was the owner of the diner, and my mother took care of her daughter Kathleen. One of the first important photo shoots Gia began her work with photographer Chris von Wangenheim, who rented it to the American Vogue.
