Multifaceted Nikolai Valuev

Recently, a former Russian boxer Nikolai Valuev turned professional 40 years. In this regard, we decided to recall the most remarkable moments in the life of the current State Duma deputy and famous showman.




At school, Nicholas is not engaged in boxing and basketball. In the national team he became the Frunze Youth champion of the country in this sport among boys younger. At the same time he was also engaged in athletics - the discus throw.



The phenomenal boxer dimensions (height 213 cm, weight 150 kg) more than once led to an amusing curiosity. One of championship belts won by them turned out to be small, Valuev, and for him the trophy have moved in a hurry.



At the beginning of his career, Valuev was embroiled in a trial due to breach of contract with the manager of Top of the Heads. Because of this, the Heads filed a lawsuit in the Federal Court of New Jersey, who ordered Nicholas to pay his former promoter 176,000 dollars. The Russian did not react to this decision, and in 2004 with the assistance of lawyers Valuev, the court overturned the earlier decision.



Valuev is an avid fan of the St. Petersburg "Zenith". Sometimes even I traveled to away matches of their favorite team.



In December 2005, after defeating John Ruiz, Valuev became the first Russian world champion among professionals in the heavyweight version of the World Boxing Association. At a press conference in honor of his victory, Nicholas said that the championship belt turned out to be small for his figure and that for him to be made a new belt.



At 12 years old Nikolay Valuev wore shoes size 47. All the shoes had to sew to order and it is, according to the athlete, was terribly ugly. Now Nicholas wears size 52 shoes. Fashionable shoes for him sew master German family Wessels, shoes giants since 1745.

Nicholas wants to become a director and make a film about the history of the Russian people.
