Architects Foster + Partners have developed a project for the company Virgin Galactic, which provides services to travel into space.





Spaceport «Spaceport America» is located in the US state of New Mexico, in the middle of the desert. Its nearest settlement is the town of Las Cruces. The uniqueness of this substantially flat construction is that for its construction were used, mostly, local materials.

«Spaceport America» is packed with all kinds of appliances, whose main task is to minimize energy consumption. It was originally planned that the main energy costs will go to the ventilation system, but the problem was solved by using natural ventilation and system of underground pipes. To save power, the spaceport has several skylights and solar panels. According to the Virgin Galactic spaceport in the near future will be sent into space at least twice a day aircraft.
