Blue illumination and 12 stars, symbolizing the flag of the European Union within two months will be illuminated at the Eiffel Tower on the occasion of the beginning of the French presidency of the Council of Europe on July 1st. Over the next six months will be headed by the European Union French President Nicolas Sarkozy (Nicolas Sarkozy).



Lighting ceremony lighting the Eiffel Tower was held in the presence of the mayor of Paris Bertrand Delanoe (Bertrand Delanoë) and Slovak Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel (Dimitrij Rupel), who passed his French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy baton Presidency of the Council of Europe. For the first time the yellow lights of the Eiffel Tower was incorporated in 1985.
