The Cliff House famous restaurant on the ocean coast of California near San Francisco - a grotesque, fabulous building was one of the symbols of the East Coast. Almost the equivalent of our "Swallow's Nest." Built for the first time in 1863, the building burned down twice and once experienced a serious earthquake.

So it looked from 1884 to 1907, when burned in the chimney from a mere failure.
The restaurant still exists, but after the restructuring in the late 1970s he turned into a dull, though expensive food and drinks.
