In a result, more and more research slivaut doubts about how safe are baby wipes for baby's delicate skin. In fact, most doctors strongly advise parents to completely abandon the use of wet wipes, because, similarly, they put their children at risk.

According to NBC News, the study revealed that baby wipes are not safe for children because of one key ingredient. The results of the test were alarming: children manifested a reaction to this ingredient in the form of itchy, flaky, reddish skin.

Professor of dermatology and Pediatrics at the Medical University of Connecticut, Dr. Mary Wu Chang, was one of the experts who conducted the study. She considered the cases of many children, and, in the end, six unique reactions caught her attention.

One 8-year-old girl had a severe rash on the buttocks and around the mouth. Due to the location of the reaction results on the body of a little girl, Dr. Chung was able to narrow down the problem baby wipes, which the girl enjoyed. She asked the girl's mother, she gives baby personal care, and the response was "baby wipes".

Remembering the previous study, Dr. Chung came across a case which happened to one Belgian man, who had severe chemical and an allergic reaction to a preservative called Methylisothiazolinone. Dr. Chang is linking the preservative with the same that was in the baby wipes.

No doubt, Dr. Chang made a special analysis to check whether the girls are allergic to this preservative, and, of course, the test was positive. The solution was quite simple: the girl's mother refused to use these wipes, and the rash will soon be completely gone.

Over the next 1.5 years, Dr. Chang found a similar reaction even in 5 children. Due to the successful treatment of the first girl, the doctor was able to convince five more parents to abandon the use of napkins for my children, and rashes on the skin of these children too soon gone.

Methylisothiazolinone, has been found in many popular brands such as Johnson & Johnson, Cottonelle, and Huggies. As today it became clear that this component represents the health risk for children, these companies are reviewing the possibility of its use in their products. Their goal was to try to replace this hazardous chemical substance harmless alternative.

Another dermatologist, Dr. Ellen Frankel, too, agree with Dr. Chan that parents should not use baby wipes for their children. She advised the following:

"I always say that the parents, under any circumstances, should not use wet wipes. They contain a lot of chemicals and they can cause skin irritation, which is already in some degree rasajana due to the fact that the baby was sitting in urine and feces, or a long time was in the diaper".

To ensure that this harmful chemical won't cause the same problems in case Your child, look at the ingredients listed on the package of baby wipes. If You see the composition of a substance such as, Methylisothiazolinone, You in any case do not buy these wipes. This way You will be able to prevent the appearance of these terrible rashes Your child.
