All Ferraris will be hybrid in three years

All new Ferrari models that will be produced from 2019, will receive hybrid technology. This became known during a conference call with investors, said the head of the Alliance Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Sergio Marchionne.

According to Marchionne, the use of a conventional internal combustion engine and electrical components will allow the car to become faster, while improving their fuel efficiency. In addition, the hybridization of the lineup will help the company to increase annual output to more than 10 million cars by 2025.

Currently, Ferrari produces about 8 thousand cars a year. The output to 10 thousand cars, in accordance with existing laws, allows the company to bring its model in line with strict requirements for efficiency and level of CO2 emissions, which must be subject to big brands.

Marchionne have repeatedly expressed the intention to increase the production of Ferrari. In his opinion, the company needs to follow the growth of the segment, freeing customers from having to wait too long for delivery of their machines. The former head of Ferrari Luca di Montezemolo, who left his post at the end of 2014, believed that the need to limit the amount of seven thousand cars. This, in his opinion, will allow to save models and brand exclusivity.

Now the only Ferrari model with a hybrid power plant is the LaFerrari and the LaFerrari Aperta, a limited edition. The first "mass" hybrid supercar brand will become the successor of the F12berlinetta. The market this car will be released by 2020. published
