Giant tiger from wooden boards

Week-long art camp on the creation of art objects for eight different Hungarian communities under the title "Hello, tree" (Hello Wood) brought together 200 young designers and architects under the guidance of more experienced members of these wonderful professions.

The campers worked together to create artistic projects based on the socio-economic problems of the regions. One of the main sponsor of the largest company in the timber trade, which has aimed to contribute to the development and promotion of environmentally friendly and socially responsible architecture. Apparently, it was she who provided the participants with enough material to create this unique art-object – a giant tiger.

It is a colossal structure made in the carpentry shop designer gábor Microcom Jocoy (Gabor Miklós Szoke) and his team consisting of Adam Farkas (Farkas Ádám), Esther Moritz (Eszter Móricz), Tamas Nadasdi (Tamás Nádasdy), Christina Sarkani (Krisztina Sárkány) and Zolton Toroca (Török Zoltán) in just a week from the dried wooden boards.

I created this project for the Szakácsi community. The artist created a vision of his future creations after visiting the community and meeting local residents. His goal was to create a sculpture that "protect" the community and stood for the power of unity, self-defense and the acceptance of the challenge. Later the Tiger also "participated" in the Festival "Sziget" (Sziget Festival).

This is a truly incredible creation really attracts the eyes and is able to point out any problem. But for conservationists it is possible to indicate that this ferocious feline installation made entirely from salvaged lumber. It's better in art than in the furnace!
