Pit House - a dwelling cave

Agitator of Herosimy Maeda Keisuke (Keisuke Maeda) author residence Pit House. She recently built on a hillside in Okayama (Japan) and is a kind of "cave", which gives its residents a 360-degree view of the surroundings.

This incredible and paradoxical effect is achieved by forming the superstructure of the building, mounted on a support, in combination with an underground part, the "dug" in the body of the hill.

A huge amphitheater inside the house combines two opposite poles and provides space plenty of natural daylight, thanks to which is half underground structure is literally filled with air and gives its residents direct visual connection with the outside world.

Contrast are not only differences "above" and "below", but form two parts – a square top and round bottom, divided and United air gap. However, the line of the internal space of the upper and lower parts are almost literally repeat each other, achieving the harmony and unity of opposites.

Amazing feeling of inner peace is achieved here by the sincerity of materials, warmth of natural wood with a pronounced texture and an abundance of living green plants.
