Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) is preparing to launch the payment application with the function of face recognition. Identification of a person occurs with near-perfect accuracy.

According to the newspaper Science and Technology Daily citing Chongqing Institute of green technology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the system uses the world's largest database of Asian faces, which has more than 50 million records. The database was formed with the participation of foreign universities.

According to the researchers, the system uses a unique technology of data collection, which allows you to simultaneously scan the face for more than 90 angles. The system's ability to self-training ensures stability and accuracy in a fast paced environment.

The system recognizes the person with maximum precision according to the international standard Carnegie-Mellon – 99.8 percent. Thus, the researchers broke the previous record by his colleagues – 97.6 per cent.

The facial recognition technology has found application in various fields. It is used when passing the border control, as well as for access control and time attendance.

To take advantage of the new system, simply install a special application on their mobile device and associate a Bank account or card. The developers claim that the system identificeret payer in just "one second".

High detection reliability is ensured by a special algorithm which allows to cheat the system when she is trying to show the picture or video instead of a real person. In addition, the system automatically tracks changing characteristics of the object, considering their impact on the result. For example, a person lost weight or grew my hair.

The researchers are also developing payment terminal. System startup is scheduled for 2015.
