20 summer recipes for refreshing homemade lemonade

Nothing saves you from the scorching heat and quenches thirst like a cool glass of lemonade. It can be prepared from fruits or berries and even add spices, herbs or nutritional vegetables.

Unfortunately, store-bought versions of this drink is not very useful. They are quite a lot of preservatives, sugars, colors and flavors. To effectively quench the thirst of such a drink is unlikely to succeed.

What should I do? Prepare lemonade at home. It's quite simple. Moreover, in the composition and health benefits of this drink you can be sure at 100%. Yes, and it's all about experimentation: try new ingredients and find your favourite combination.

 


1. Raspberry + lime Mix in a bottle 0.6 glass of lime juice and 0.5 cups of sugar until dissolved. In a blender, blend 1.5 cups of raspberries to puree. Strain berry puree through a sieve and press the juice. Pour it into a carafe. Then add 3 cups soda water and crushed ice. Serve. 2. Lemon + blueberries You will need freshly squeezed juice of 2 lemons. Mix it in a blender with 2 cups blueberries, 2 cups water and 0.5 cups of sugar. Blend until smooth and strain through a sieve. Add thinly sliced lemon and serve immediately.


3. Strawberry + lavender Pour 2-3 tablespoons of dried lavender flowers 200 ml of hot water. Allow to steep for 30 minutes. 250 grams fresh strawberries, lightly mash with a spoon. Mix the strawberries, 1.5 liters of cold water, lavender water, 5-6 tbsp sugar, juice of 2 lemons and mix well. Leave the drink in the refrigerator at least 5 hours. Strain and serve. 4. Lemon + thyme Put 1 bunch of fresh thyme in a saucepan and pour 1 Cup of clean drinking water. Add the 1.5 cups of cane sugar. Bring to a boil. Remove the thyme, cool the syrup and strain. Squeeze the juice of 2 lemons and mix with the syrup. Add mineral water to taste, a few slices of lemon, a sprig of thyme and ice. You can serve the drink to the table.


5. Lemon + cinnamon You will need 10 lemons. Remove the peel, cut in half and squeeze the juice. Boil 2 liters of water and add the cinnamon stick, the lemon peel, 300 grams of sugar. Mix thoroughly and leave for a while. Then strain and chill the drink. Add lemon juice and stir. Before serving you can decorate the glass with a lemon slice and a cinnamon stick.

6. Strawberry + lemon Squeeze the juice of 6 lemons and strain it. Zest finely chop. Add the zest and juice of lemons 2.5 litres of water. There also pour 0.5 liters of sugar syrup. To prepare it, you need the sugar to dissolve in boiling water in the ratio 1:2. Stir and leave for a while. 3 cups of strawberry mash with a fork and add into the drink. Some stuff reserved to decorate the glasses. Strain the lemonade through cheesecloth and refrigerate for a while.


7. Watermelon + BlackBerry, Put in a saucepan 1 Cup sugar and 6 sprigs of rosemary. Pour 1 Cup of water. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once the sugar has dissolved, remove the pot from the fire and pour another glass of water. Leave the syrup to infuse for a maximum of 30 minutes, and then strain. 2.5 kg of pulp of watermelon cut into small pieces, in chunks grind in a blender, puree and strain through a sieve.

Put 200g of the blackberries into a jug and lightly mash with a spoon. Add watermelon juice, the syrup from the rosemary and the juice of 12 lemons. Stir and put in the fridge. Before filling a glass, add ice, a little soda water and then make lemonade.

8. Apple + lemon + honey Squeeze the juice from apples to make 0.5 liters. Add 1 tablespoon of honey, juice and 0.5 liters of sparkling water. Cool. Half an Apple cut into cubes, and half of the lemon — rings. Add the chilled drink before serving. Decorate the drink with sprigs of mint and honey Lollipop.


9. Cherry + lemon, You will need the juice of 0.5 kgs of cherry and 1 lemon. Mix them and add sugar to taste. Refrigerate the concentrate. Before serving, put on the bottom of the glass a few cherries. Fill it 1/3 juice and add mineral water with gas or without.

10. Orange + rhubarb Cut into 8 large stalks rhubarb and put into saucepan. Pour 5 cups of water and add a quarter Cup of sugar. Bring the mass to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for about an hour. Cool and strain the infusion, and then add a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice and a few mint leaves. Put the lemonade in the fridge for 3-4 hours.

13. Pear + sage quarter of a lime slice and place on the bottom of a narrow glass. Add 5 grams of sage leaves. Add crushed ice to taste. Squeeze 100 ml of pear juice and pour into a glass. Add half a teaspoon of sugar syrup. Add sparkling mineral water to the brim. Decorate the glass with a leaf of sage.

14. Mandarin + orange Pour into the pan a glass of water and stir in 4 tablespoons of sugar. Bring the syrup to a boil, stir well and cook for another 5 minutes after boiling. 6 peel the tangerines and chop the flesh with a blender or using tolkushkoy. Put the jug in the pulp of oranges and a few sprigs of mint. 4 Mandarin wash, cut into slices and place in pitcher. Pour syrup, juice of 1 orange and 1 liter of water. Cool.


15. Cucumber + lime Cucumber slice and load in blender. From half a lime and half an orange, squeeze the juice and pour in to the same. Chop the ingredients until smooth. Add 3 tablespoons of puree into a chilled glass of water. Serve with a sprig of rosemary.

16. Watermelon + Basil In a saucepan, combine 1 Cup water and 3/4 Cup sugar. Bring to the boil and simmer for 5 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat, add 1 Cup of Basil leaves and leave for 1 hour. After strain through a sieve into a bowl. In a blender grind 8 cups pulp of watermelon until smooth and also strain through a sieve directly into a pitcher. Add syrup and 1/2 Cup of lemon. Refrigerate and serve over ice.


17. Mint + tarragon + strawberries Cut halves of lemon and lime into pieces and squeeze the juice into a transparent jug. There add well washed pieces of citrus peel, 7-8 berries of strawberry, a few sprigs of mint and tarragon to taste. Stir in sugar to taste. Pour in a jug of hot water to 1/5 and let it brew. Top up with water and put in the fridge for a while. Serve with crushed ice.

18. Peach + lemon Slice 2 juicy peach cubes. Mix with 1 Cup sugar and 4 cups water. Put on fire and bring to a boil. After reduce heat and simmer about 10 minutes. Strain through a sieve. Add 3/4 Cup of lemon juice. Put the lemonade in the fridge. Before serving, garnish with sprig of mint.


19. Sorrel + red currant Wash a handful of fresh sorrel. Mix it in a blender with 50 grams of red currants and half a glass of crushed ice. Add to the resulting mass of 100 grams of berries and a half Cup of ice. Pour sparkling mineral water. Serve garnished with a handful of berries of red currant.

20. Lemon + lime + Basil In a saucepan add 1 Cup of white sugar, add 1 Cup of water and bring to a boil until the sugar is completely dissolved. Cool. Pour the juice of 3 lemons and 3 limes, add zest and refrigerate for another 30 minutes. Half lemon and half lime cut into thin slices and mix with a small bundle of mint.
