Company Lexus, specializing in the production of premium cars, has announced the creation of a real working hoverboard. The device is able to levitate at a height of several inches above the ground. In support of this, the company has posted a video on YouTube.
Slide is the realization of a technology from the movie "Back to the future 2". Based on boards made of bamboo, are superconductors, cooled with liquid nitrogen, and magnets. In the design of the hoverboard there are elements of the radiator grills of cars.
Hoverboard Lexus, however, has one peculiarity. It only works on metal surfaces. So in the near future Slide is unlikely to replace the traditional skateboards, on which ride in the parks.
But the main thing is that the device is working and has a stylish design. For the doubters that this is not a gimmick, Lexus stated that the work on the project took place over 18 months. In creating the hoverboard was also attended by research teams from Germany and London.
Currently, the Slide being tested by professional skateboarders in Barcelona. Lexus says that riding on the hoverboard is different from ride a Board with wheels.
To see the Slide is possible only in a video released by Lexus on its official YouTube channel. However, after seeing it, we did not see a hoverboard in action. The company promises to publish soon a new video.
