Julian Assange: Google is not what it seems from the sandbox. Part 4

Youth work is very important. It understands the government, and Jared Cohen well knows it. In addition to Google Ideas, Cohen is and manages several non-governmental organizations aimed to work with young activists from around the world.

He began working with youth in the same year, when agreed with the Afghan Opsosam on the transfer of the towers, literally at the beginning of his global career. About these youth hangouts and will be discussed.

The world of Jared Cohen looks like a series of endless soirees for the cross-fertilization of influence between elites and their vassals, and served under the sauce of "civil society".

In developed capitalist societies there is a mistaken idea that there is an organized "civil society sector" in which public institutions are formed by themselves and together to manifest the interests and will of citizens.

Fable says that the boundaries of this sector by the state and revered "private sector" that leave safe space for non-governmental and non-profit organizations, so they can defend such things as civil rights, freedom of speech and accountable government.

Sounds like a great idea. But if it was all real, it would not have existed for decades. At least since the 1970s, are the members of "civil society" as trade unions and churches have come down under the continuous nastupleniem free-market statism, transforming this "civil society" in a buyer's market for political factions and corporate interests, allowing to influence on the arm's length.

In the last forty years has become noticeably huge proliferation of research centres and state-governmental organizations whose goal is hidden all their verbiage – to carry out political programmes by agreement.

And it's not only obvious advanced group like "Foreign policy initiative" (Foreign Policy Initiative). This includes meaningless Western organizations like "freedom House" (Freedom House), where naïve but well-meaning career nonprofit workers are collapsed into nodes of government funding streams, denouncing human rights violations outside the West, leaving local abuse blind spots.

Civil conference organised by activists in developing countries around the world hundreds of times a year to bless the unholy Union between "government and private actors" on geopolitical developments like the Stockholm Internet forum (Stockholm Internet Forum) – simply could not exist if they did not support the infusion of millions of government dollars annually.

If you look at the list of members of the largest American centers and institutes, will be to slip the same names. Save Summit, which sent Cohen to wreak AVE or AgainstViolentExtremism.org a long – term venture, whose main supporter, not counting Google Ideas is the Gen Next Foundation. On the website of the institution States that it "organization with a limited membership and platform for successful individuals" that aims to "social change" driven by venture capital funding. Jared Cohen's Executive member (executive member).

Gen Next also supports NGOs, launched by Cohen toward the end of his term of office in the state Department to attract democratic Internet activists from around the world under the patronage networks of the American foreign Ministry. This organization was founded on the basis of the "Alliance of youth movements" summit in 2008, with the support of the state Department and a handful of sponsors logos which were encrusted.

The summit brought together carefully selected social media activists from "problem areas" like Venezuela and Cuba to watch speeches new media group, predvybornoi the Obama campaign and state Department official James Glassman (James Glassman) and to work with consultants on public relations, "philanthropists," and us media personalities. In addition, held two summits closed in London and Mexico city, and at last the delegates even directly addressed via video link by Hillary Clinton:

You are the avant – garde of the younger generation of civil society activists. [...] And that makes you the leaders that we need.

In 2011, the "Alliance of youth movements" was renamed "Movements.org". In 2012 Movements.org became a division of "Advancing human rights" (Advancing Human Rights), a new NGO created by Robert L. Bernstein (Robert L. Bernstein), after he resigned from Human Rights Watch (which he created) because I felt that this organization should not touch human rights violations in Israel and the United States.

Advancing Human Rights was to fix what was done wrong in Human Rights Watch, focusing exclusively on "dictatorships". Cohen said that the merger of his Movements.org and Advancing Human Rights was "inevitable," calling the latter as "an extraordinary organization of cyberactivists in the middle East and North Africa".

He then joined the Advancing Human Rights Board, which also includes Richard Kemp (Richard Kemp), a former commander of British forces in occupied Afghanistan.

In its current guise Movements.org continues to receive funding from Gen Next, as well as from Google, MSNBC, and pr giant Edelman, including General Electric, Boeing, and Shell [approx. the company Edelman is known for its fake campaign for Big tobacco and Walmart, giving the impression of public support for these companies while paying people who pretend to be having the most support].

Google Ideas is bigger, but subject to the same rules of the game. Let's look briefly at the list of speakers at their annual get-togethers by invitation, such as "Crisis in a connected world" (Crisis in a Connected World) in October 2013. Theorists and activists of the social networks give this event some external plaque of authenticity, but in reality it is a toxic piñata of the other attendees: U.S. officials, Telecom magnates, security consultants, capitalists-the financiers and the foreign vultures like Alec Ross (Alec Ross, another Cohen of the state Department).

And at the origins of the contractors and military careerists: active U.S. cyber command leaders ("Cyber Command chieftains") and even the Admiral responsible for us military operations in Latin America in 2006-2009. And the eyeballs, Jared Cohen and Eric Schmidt.

I started thinking that Eric Schmidt, the brilliant but politically hapless Californian tech billionaire that has been used in American foreign policy by the very types whom he gathered around himself to official Washington – right illustration of the dilemma of principal-agent in the face of the East and West coasts [note. “principal-agent problem” or “agency dilemma”, the situation where one party, the customer (principal), refers to the other party, the contractor (agent) with instructions to do something on behalf of someone, but their interests are not equivalent and the contractor begins to operate the customer. A classic example of when a lawyer makes a decision, which will benefit himself, and not his client].

I was wrong. To be continued... posted
