Quiet and modest people tend to the heroic deeds

We all like to think that in critical situations we would have behaved like heroes, but studies show that most people try to avoid such situations a mile away. However, at the sight of injustice in the situation often interfere quiet modest people, not bold and self-confident.

Sociological tests carried out with the participation of German students, showed that only 26% of people will intervene if they suddenly witnessed mobile phone theft, basically all of them - demure.

An imaginary scenario was as follows: for example, students are in the same room with the staff. On the table is a mobile phone, supposedly forgot another employee, who will return to him. But as soon as the first out of the office, there is a woman, and a stranger is putting the phone in his pocket. Most young people warmly assured that certainly would have intervened.

Then, the situation repeated experimentally in six months, when students are largely forgotten about the survey. Only 18 people out of 68 - 26% - intervened and continued complaining, eventually bringing the incident to the staff of the Institute.
