Large filter theory assumes that all advanced civilizations eventually destroyed themselves, and that happened before they were able to do the colonization of space. Perhaps this is due to the fact that we have never visited by aliens. However, the reason for this "cosmic silence" may be different. It may be that the Great Filter is indeed there, but we have already overcome.
The idea of more filters in 1998 was put forward Robin Hanson. In addition to a variety of cosmological and chemical prerequisites for the emergence of life on our planet, candidates for more filters can be considered the following events: the emergence of reproductive molecules (abiogenesis, and the emergence of RNA), the appearance of a simple single-celled life (prokaryotes), and the emergence of a complex single-celled life (eukaryotes).
