This necklace is one of the most expensive jewelry ever made. It was encrusted with 2930 diamonds, including diamond De Beers, weighing in at 234, 65 carats. The total weight of Patiala necklace was about 962, 25 carats.
In 1948, the necklace was gone. According to some reports De Beers diamond was auctioned Sotheby's in Geneva on 6 May 1982, and it was a bet of 3, 6 million, but the amount has not held up to the asking price, and the diamond was sold. In 1998, part of the Patiala necklace was discovered in London in the second-hand store jewelry. However, all the large stones in it were missing, including De Beers diamond.
