WebMoney.UA received the official status of the domestic settlement system Bashny.Net

Yesterday the Ukrainian segment of the international payment system WebMoney was officially registered National Bank of Ukraine (NBU). Information on making WebMoney.UA in Реестр payment systems appeared on the official website of the NBU. The official status of WebMoney in Ukraine, on the one hand is the legal guarantee of the state for the participants in the system and the possibility of its use for commercial calculations legal way. On the other hand, it also means control over the activities of regulators of the NBU WebMoney. For end users, the functionality of the system and its rates will not change.

The story of the electronic payment system in Ukraine is often acquired scandalous. In 2013 WebMoney.UA came under the attention of the State Tax Service: in the end it ended the searches in the Kiev office, locked accounts the amount of approximately EUR 6 million and seizure of servers. Maybe that played a role, and the public reaction: in Ukraine WebMoney пользуются about 2.5 million people, some of them took the trouble to draw up a petition to the authorities on change.org, despite the almost complete uselessness of such appeals.

After the restoration of the WebMoney for its users have been introduced some restrictions , which, however, did not last long. They were probably associated just with suspicions that the WebMoney online shopping used for illegal settlements - in this regard, for the calculation then began to give some payment cards with limited face value.

In late May, the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine (ACC) told special treatment that the main problem of the appearance on the Ukrainian market of electronic Payment systems are the regulatory constraints of the NBU and the Ministry of Economy. After their elimination in Ukraine may appear PayPal, and Apple Pay, and Google Wallet. "Thus, today the National Bank is a formal letter from the American Chamber of Commerce and the base to start the changes in the job. The ball is now on the side of the National Bank of Ukraine ", - the statement says.
